We often live in an illusion that a certain achievement will bring us the long-pending contentment which we are so arduously working to achieve.  But how about the things we have received as blessings, fruits of labour, or virtue of destiny? Do we count our blessings as often as we should? Do we practice gratitude before we go on manifesting? A simple thank you to the universe every day for every small or big thing; while you notice all these blessings, not only are you present in the moment but also it fills you with happiness and pulls you back from past worries and future expectations.


There is no lie in gratitude, as it helps you identify what are things you are blessed with, it asks you to accept what is not going your way. Your blessings that you made conscious in your psyche by practicing gratitude, fuels you to work towards everything which is not aligned with your purpose, it becomes your strength. Gratitude is the simplest way to meditate. Why you would ask? Meditation is not just your conventional shut-your-eyes-look-within, it is also about being centered and the ultimate idea is to be grounded and complacent, and practicing gratitude can bring that to you. 


Now that we have established that Gratitude can be one way you can meditate, let’s see how this form of grounding can be done!


  • Affirmations

  • Affirmations are a powerful tool to reinforce a mindset you wish to live in. Is abundance on your mind? Affirm it! In our case, gratitude is the central theme. So affirmations surrounding gratitude recited daily and reminded to oneself can help you fill yourself with gratitude.


    You can try the following Affirmations daily, either before you start your day, during your meditation, before sleeping, or maybe write them in your diary.


    • “I am grateful for my environment.”
    • “I am grateful for my body’s ability to be in this environment.”
    • “I am grateful to all the living things that make it possible for me to be in this environment.”



  • Gratitude Journal

  • If you’re starting out, you might not be that consistent, and what more than reciting these affirmations, in that case, a gratitude journal might come real handy. You can go beyond the above-mentioned affirmations or any other affirmation, be detailed about what, how, and who you’re grateful for. It can be cathartic and can help you connect more without yourself, people around you, and your surroundings.


  • Express Gratitude

  • To be more deliberate in expressing gratitude, you can be upfront to people about the joy they bring into your life. It can also be, showing love to your pet, talk to your plants, or talking to yourself or your body about how beautifully it carries you, sustains, and keeps you alive. All this can be a way to show your gratitude, in a more verbal and interactive way.


    Gratitude is as beautiful as a sunrise after a long and dark night. Not only it give your perspective but helps you pull your scattered self and realize your true potential.
